THE BULLET THAT MISSED

BY RICHARD OSMAN

413 pages

Another Thursday Murder Club mystery that is an easy fly off the page novel from popular author, Richard Osman. ‘The Bullet That Missed’ (September 2022) takes the reader out of Cooper’s Chase on an investigation spanning 10 years - this time with two murders to solve. It’s another warm and humorous whodunnit for fans and book clubbers - great to read or gift or do both!

So settle down and spend time with the septuagenarian sleuths - Elizabeth, Ibrahim, Joyce and Ron. Plus Allan the dog!

The team take on an investigation into the murder of a local TV news presenter Bethany Waites. Whilst the team kick start snooping around Bethany’s life, albeit 10 years after her death, Elizabeth has been given a more dangerous mission to murder a KGB general, an enemy she respected from her spy days or sacrifice her friend Joyce.

Whether you have been following Osman’s series or not, the characters are devilishly curious, funny and as we know from the Den’s own book clubs everyone has a favourite detective - but we all agreed, it’s just great to get the gang back with another deadly adventure investigating a murder with no body and trouble knocking on their door…

Love is also in the air in this novel and as Osman himself confides “it’s a blast spending more time with the gang!”. Treat yourself and your book club - a read we can all look forward to (and share!).

And if you have enjoyed this 'The Last Devil To Die' is out now.
